2026 Writing WORKSHOPS
Memoir Workshops start Tuesday, January 13th
You can sign up for any one unit or join for the whole year. Each six week unit is a great container for generating new writing, gaining new tools, and meeting a group of other writers doing the same thing. I’ve seen so many important friendships and collaborations form in these workshops, and a mountain of incredible writing.
These classes focus on everything from reawakening your creativity after a long dormancy all the way through submitting for publication and imagining the structure of your own book.
Fiction Workshops start Monday, January 12th
We’re going to start off by going over story basics. I don’t like thinking of story as a formula to follow. I believe it should emerge organically from characters asserting their will in a certain setting. That means we also need to talk about characters! Oh boy, there’s a lot to talk about.
I’m hearing more and more people wanting to pursue fiction writing because the circumstances of the real world are so painful. I support that approach. I think writing fiction can actually bring us closer to truths about ourselves than even memoir can.
